HAWK DRIVE
Your location for file storage and collaborationWelcome to Hawk Drive! Brought to you by KU Information Technology, Hawk Drive is the newest tool for secure file storage, versioning, and collaboration.
- Share files and collaborate with anyone, inside or outside of KU;
- Store files securely and access them anywhere via the Web;
- Easily save and track earlier versions of files;
- Receive notifications when a collaborator makes changes to a file;
- Create ad-hoc groups to share files and folders with committees, departments, and teams (at KU and beyond);
- Discuss the files you’re working on in an associated wiki.
- Committee and group work (including search committees)
- Collaborating on papers and presentations
- Preserving multiple versions of important files
- Secure storage of your files (up to 1 GB)
Hawk Drive accounts are currently available only to KU faculty and staff (though they can share files with KU students and others); starting in fall 2009, KU students will also have Hawk Drive accounts.
We Listened
KU faculty and staff have been asking for tools that support collaboration with colleagues here and elsewhere-and we listened.
Hawk Drive enables you to share files (drafts of papers, presentations, spreadsheets, images, and any other type of file) with anyone, gives you the power to control the type of access (read-only or read/write) and lets you track versions of those files. And Hawk Drive is more than just shared storage space for files-you can also discuss your works-in-progress with your collaborators on Hawk Drive's built-in wiki pages.
Early adopters have found Hawk Drive easy to use and said it simplified projects that required a lot of paperwork, particularly committee work. We hope that you find it useful, too.
Our goal is to provide the technology tools that support your research, teaching, and other work at KU. Please don't hesitate to contact us with feedback about Hawk Drive and other tools and services we provide.
Sincerely,
Julie Loats and Chuck Crawford
Directors, KU Information Technology
